This is the Washington High School Rifle Team website. This rifle season is projected to be a pretty decent year for the rifle team. The rifle season lasts a short 12 matches, but they last somewhat of a long time because only about 3-4 people shoot per relay and there are 4-5 relays per match and then they have to score the targets. We shoot .22 caliber match rifles much like this one.

These .22 rifles are different from other .22 rifles because they're set up to get the most stability out of the person and also be extremely accurate. It is also very heavy because you need that weight to keep it stable; if the gun is light it tends to sway more. The guns are also very stocky because for the other positions you need to have your gun rest on your hand, so it needs to be wider.
